Family Caregiver Alliance, formerly Family Survival Project, is the Bay Area Caregiver Resource Center for families and friends of brain impaired adults. Brain impairments may include Alzheimer's disease, other types of dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, or many other adult onset diagnoses. FCA offers information and education about brain impairments, community resources and caregiver issues. Support services include individual care planning consultations, legal information and consultation, respite assistance, individual and group counseling, and workshops for families and professionals. FCA publishes a quarterly newsletter, fact sheets, research reports and training manuals.
