Verne S. Doxey, MSW, is a geriatric care manager and consultant who has been involved in health care in San Francisco for over 20 years. Her experience includes work in the field of mental health, head injury, and stroke rehabilitation as well as agencies serving the elderly population.
Upon referral, Ms. Doxey will perform a comprehensive needs assessment to identify the specific services the older adult requires to maximize function and live safely at home. A personalized care plan, specific to the individual's needs is developed and addresses short and long term issues. The individual is then monitored to ensure that continuous high quality care is received, whether that be at home, in a residential or skilled care setting. Ms. Doxey keeps the family fully informed and recommends necessary adjustments to the care plan as needed.
Ms. Doxey holds a Master's degree from the School of Social Welfare at the University of California at Berkeley and is also a registered nurse. She is a member of the National Association of Private Geriatric Care Managers, the National Association of Social Workers and Bay Area Social Workers in Health Care.
